We like to start the day off right with a moment of clarity and some good stretching. Our Embroidered Flower Flares are the coolest yoga pants we've ever seen, and they're way comfy. What's not to love?
After doing morning yoga, we just had to pick up a breakfast burrito from our favorite vegetarian restaurant in town. Luckily our trusty third-eye helmet kept us safe along the way.
With the groovy pants and bike, we made more than one passer-by smile!
Even though it's tempting to hide out inside in the air conditioning in the heat of the day, we've got to stay active, and luckily we've got the clothes to do it! Our all time favorite beach dress, It's a Wrap, is perfect for spinning around and getting loose in the summer sun.

We've always loved the way Béla Fleck plays the banjo, but after seeing his film, Throw Down Your Heart, we are taken aback by the beauty of Béla's trip to Africa. In the documentary, Béla brings the banjo back to its' birthplace. It's so funny that we usually associate the banjo with a southern, country music sound when it's roots are in Africa. Once we heard the banjo accompanied by some of the best musicians in Africa, we could hear how well it fit in with these instruments that it's not typically played with in America. Béla even found a young man who plays the instrument that the banjo is believed to be derived from. Watching the reaction of the locals to Béla's playing, as well as his reaction to the different instrumentation and vocal range of the locals was so fun. The collaborations Béla has with musicians around the continent are jaw dropping. We were so moved by Béla's collaboration with Oumou Sangare that we were brought to tears. Watching 2 people communicate so clearly through music is so powerful! Check out a clip from the documentary above where Béla plays with Ruth, the only female thumb piano player in Jinja.
Be the Belle of the ball in our Nepali Dress. The striped patchwork flows as you spin around in circles, becoming the grooviest hooper in town. The music is 'The Chicken' by String Cheese Incident, performed on 2-21-2000. The entire show is available for free download at archive.org. String Cheese is on fire this tour, if you're on the West Coast, make sure to check them out before summer tour comes to a close.
Based out of Asheville, North Carolina, Toubab Krewe is a festival regular with a very unique sound. They blend musical styles from Mali and America to create a sound completely their own. The groups instrumentation includes a kora, a kamelengoni, a Malian horsehair fiddle, two electric guitars, a bass guitar, a drum set and African percussion. Make sure to check them out next time you see them on a festival line up, and enjoy this video of them performing 'Hang Tan.'
Even on a cloudy day, you can be the headiest hooper around in our Sunshine Tank.
The music is Orgone - Easin' (Outro). Check out Orgone, they're from L.A. and they get funky! We had the pleasure of seeing them last week and can't stop listening to them.
We love String Cheese Incident for so very many reasons. Their library of tunes consists of such a wide variety of genres of music, decades of songwriting, and geographically specific styles of playing that we could never get tired of listening to them. On a given night they're going to play a couple funky songs, a few of them "old timey single mic' kinda numbers," as well as some jammy upbeat music to keep everyone dancing. As far as musicianship goes, String Cheese is full of talented players who take their job seriously...it's rare to hear them have an off night. Check out the video above from the night we decided that they were one of the best jam bands around, the second annual Rothbury Music Festival in 2009.

Les Claypool is a freak of the highest order, and that's one of the reasons why we love him so much. In the Live from Bonnaroo DVD from 2002 he is called 'the creepy uncle of the jamband scene,' and we have to agree with that title. Check out this great video of Claypool sitting in with Gov't Mule. Our favorite part of this clip is catching Warren shaking his head and smirking at the things coming out of Claypool's mouth. These two play so well together, and we would not have guessed that!

We have seen Railroad Earth a few times and just can't get enough of their unique style of modern bluegrass. Check out their video for "Hard Livin'" above, and click here to see when Railroad Earth will be in a town near you.
We first came across Earphunk at Bear Creek Music and Arts Festival this winter in Live Oak, Florida. Since then our ears have been majorly phunked up! The guys are New Orleans natives which is quite apparent from the get-go on their debut album, Comin' Up. Earphunk's got a familiar New Orleans funk sound, but with a young and fresh approach. We could compare them to Lettuce and Particle, they bring the funk and keep your feet moving. We were lucky enough to see them a couple weeks ago in Savannah, Georgia and they guys gave us an album that is in constant rotation. The video above is the song 'Stuck In A Funk,' probably our favorite on the album, but don't be mistaken, every song on the album is pretty funky!
